  • Preserve Gold has an A+ BBB rating and has been BBB-accredited since September 6, 2022.
  • Preserve Gold's BBB file contains two complaints.
  • SafeOunce found no lawsuit against Preserve Gold: no federal court case in CourtListener's database names Preserve Gold Group, Inc. as of October 2, 2026.
  • SafeOunce found no CFTC, SEC, FTC or California regulator action against Preserve Gold Group, Inc. in searches on October 2, 2026.

Preserve Gold is a real, operating gold IRA seller, legally Preserve Gold Group, Inc. of Woodland Hills, California. It has a BBB A+ grade, 2 BBB complaints in three years and no court case or regulator action found (October 2, 2026). The harder question is what a record this short can and cannot tell you about a company that is four years old.

A gold IRA is a retirement account that holds physical gold through a custodian. To test whether the company is legit, SafeOunce read both records in the Preserve Gold complaints file at the BBB (Better Business Bureau). It also searched federal court dockets and regulator sites and read the company's contract. The one published complaint is about a shipping charge, a price-match promise and a slow delivery, and today's contract covers only one of those three.

That contract also sends disputes to arbitration, which means a private judge instead of a court. Fees, the fee waiver, spread figures in dollars and who the company suits are in our Preserve Gold review; this page covers the complaint, court and regulator record. This page is about the precious metals dealer Preserve Gold Group, Inc. (preservegold.com), not a nature preserve or another business with "Preserve" in its name.

The 12 facts below come from the BBB, Trustpilot, federal court and trademark records and the company's contract, each dated.

Is Preserve Gold Legit? The Short Answer#

Yes, Preserve Gold is a legitimate, operating company. It is a California corporation with an A+ BBB grade, a published sales contract, and no court case or regulator action found against it as of October 2, 2026. If you ask "is Preserve Gold legit" or reputable, the public record says yes.

Legit is not the same as low-cost, and a short record is partly a short history. The company started on July 6, 2022. Its complaint record at the BBB holds 2 complaints in three years. The one with a published text is about a shipping charge, a price-match promise and a 36-day delivery. Its contract also states a spread of up to 20% on cash bullion and generally up to 34.99% on IRA purchases. The spread is the share of your price that is the seller's margin, not metal.

Who should be careful? You should be careful if you rely on a promise made by phone or on the website, such as a price match, free shipping or a fee waiver. The contract says only its written terms count. The same goes if you cannot decide within 24 hours, or plan to move most of an IRA at once.

Two points count in the company's favor. Preserve is one of only 4 of 15 operating sellers that publish a spread range in their contract (September 29, 2026). And the customer in the published complaint told the BBB the resolution was satisfactory.

Who owns Preserve Gold?#

The BBB lists Daniel Boston as Preserve Gold's owner and Jennifer Reubel as its CEO, as of October 2, 2026. The BBB records the business as a corporation that started on July 6, 2022. The company does not publish its ownership shares. The review covers the company's background in more detail.

Preserve Gold BBB Rating and Complaint Record#

Preserve Gold has an A+ BBB rating and has been BBB-accredited since September 6, 2022. The BBB shows 2 complaints in the last three years and none closed in the last 12 months, as of October 2, 2026. One complaint is filed under delivery and marked resolved; the other is filed under sales and advertising and marked answered.

BBB accreditation is a paid membership. "Resolved" means the customer told the BBB the issue was fixed. "Answered" means the company replied, and the customer did not accept the reply or did not report back.

2 BBB complaints in three years, and what the number means#

Preserve Gold has 2 BBB complaints against 123 BBB reviews, or 1.6 complaints per 100 reviews, the fifth-lowest rate of ten large gold IRA sellers. Preserve's figures are as of October 2, 2026; the other nine are as of September 29, 2026.

The table ranks ten gold IRA sellers by BBB complaints per 100 BBB reviews.

Company BBB complaints (3 years) BBB reviews Per 100 reviews
Lear Capital 33 149 22.1
American Hartford Gold 111 798 13.9
Priority Gold 38 641 5.9
Goldco 72 1,710 4.2
Birch Gold 9 227 4.0
Preserve Gold 2 123 1.6
Noble Gold 3 242 1.2
Augusta 1 135 0.7
Patriot Gold 0 80 0
Advantage Gold 0 9 0

Counts grow with sales volume and years in business, and disputes sent to private arbitration never reach the BBB. Preserve is the youngest of the ten. It started on July 6, 2022, which makes it about 4.2 years old in October 2026. The BBB shows only its three-year window, so the count for the company's whole life is not known. The February 2024 complaint leaves that window in early 2027 (SafeOunce calculation).

What an A+ BBB grade does and does not tell you#

An A+ BBB grade mostly measures how a company answers complaints, not what it charges. The BBB's rating overview (read September 29, 2026) sets A+ at 97 to 100 points. Unanswered complaints can cost up to 40 points, unresolved ones 30, complaint volume 15 and time in business 10. Customer reviews are not used, and accreditation is paid.

The BBB adds its own caution on the complaints page: "The complaint text that is displayed might not represent all complaints filed with BBB."

Why BBB and Trustpilot ratings rarely separate gold IRA companies is explained on our ratings page.

Trustpilot and other review sites: 175 reviews, none below four stars#

Preserve Gold has a 4.9 Trustpilot score from 175 reviews, as of October 2, 2026. About 96% are five-star and 4% four-star, with none at three stars or below. In counts, that is about 168 five-star reviews and about 7 four-star reviews. BBB customer reviews average 4.94 out of 5 from 123 reviews on the same date.

Zero low-star reviews is unusual and positive, but it is not proof. Trustpilot shows the profile as claimed in August 2022, with a "Paid Trustpilot subscription" and a note that the company invites its customers to review. Invited reviews skew positive, and unhappy customers bound by arbitration often do not post. Five-star shares run from 89% to 99% across the ten large sellers (September 29, 2026).

Trustpilot also adds seven 3.5-star reviews to every score by formula. SafeOunce could not open the ConsumerAffairs and Yelp pages and does not describe them.

How gold IRA review sites and star scores are shaped is explained on our review-sites guide.

"Zero BBB complaints" and "spotless reputation": the company's words vs the BBB file#

Preserve Gold's marketing describes its record in stronger words than the BBB file supports. Two statements show the gap.

  • Affiliate program page, as captured on December 28, 2025: "We're the ONLY precious metal firms with ZERO Better Business Bureau complaints".
  • Homepage heading, October 2, 2026: "Spotless Reputation".

The BBB complaints page holds a complaint dated February 12, 2024, about 22 months before that capture. It shows 2 complaints in the last three years (October 2, 2026).

What Preserve Gold Customers Complain About: Both BBB Complaints Read#

Preserve Gold's BBB file contains two complaints. One is about a shipping charge, a price-match promise and a slow delivery, and one is about sales and advertising, with no published text. SafeOunce read both records on the BBB complaints page on October 2, 2026. Only one has a text, and the details below are what that customer wrote, not verified facts.

The table lists both complaints in Preserve Gold's BBB file (October 2, 2026).

Complaint BBB type BBB status Date Text published What it is about
1 Delivery Issues Resolved Filed Feb. 12, 2024; company reply Feb. 20, 2024; customer accepted Feb. 29, 2024 Yes Shipping charge, price match, delivery time
2 Sales and Advertising Issues Answered Closed more than 12 months before Oct. 2, 2026 (exact date not shown) No Not known

Complaint 1 (February 2024): a shipping charge, a price-match promise and a 36-day delivery#

A customer who paid $100,816.14 for silver bullion on March 20, 2023 complained about three things. They were an $816.14 shipping charge, a $10,200 difference from a competitor's price, and delivery after 36 days. Bullion means coins or bars valued for their metal, not as collectibles.

The table turns the customer's own figures into percentages and days (customer-stated, unverified).

Item Customer's figure SafeOunce calculation
Amount paid $100,816.14 for a promised $100,000 of silver bullion Order date March 20, 2023
Shipping charged $816.14; the customer said the website and the company promised free shipping 0.81% of the payment
Price difference from a competitor $10,200; the customer said Preserve promised to match any competitor's price 10.2% of $100,000
Delivery April 25, 2023; the customer said Preserve claimed metals ship within a week 36 days after the order
Complaint filed February 12, 2024 329 days after the order
Company reply February 20, 2024 8 days after filing
Customer accepted the resolution February 29, 2024 17 days after filing

The customer said messages to the company went unanswered before the BBB complaint, and asked for the shipping charge back. Preserve's reply said the customer had asked the BBB to withdraw the complaint. The customer then told the BBB the resolution was satisfactory. The BBB record does not say what the resolution was, or whether any money was paid.

Each of the three points turns on a promise outside the contract: free shipping, a price match and a shipping time. The purchase came 257 days after the company started, in its first year. The complaint does not call it an IRA purchase. The contract section below shows which of these points today's agreement covers.

The steps to check delivery of metal you paid for, and what to do if it is late, are on our delivery checklist.

Complaint 2: a sales and advertising complaint with no published text#

The second complaint is filed under "Sales and Advertising Issues" and marked "answered", and the BBB does not publish its text. The BBB may withhold a text when the consumer chooses not to publish it, or when it fails BBB standards.

The complaint closed more than 12 months before October 2, 2026, because the BBB shows 0 complaints closed in the last 12 months. SafeOunce does not know what it was about.

How Preserve Gold answers complaints#

Preserve Gold replied to both BBB complaints, and the BBB marks 1 of the 2 as resolved, as of October 2, 2026. The reply to the published complaint came in 8 days, and the customer then confirmed the resolution. Answering complaints is what drives an A+ grade.

One limit applies. The customer in complaint 1 said earlier direct messages had gone unanswered, which is not verified.

Preserve Gold Lawsuits: No Court Case Found, and One Trademark Case It Filed#

SafeOunce found no lawsuit against Preserve Gold: no federal court case in CourtListener's database names Preserve Gold Group, Inc. as of October 2, 2026. The only legal proceeding found is a trademark case the company itself filed and then withdrew. Searches for a "Preserve Gold lawsuit" lead to lawsuits about other companies.

A docket is a court's list of everything filed in a case. "With prejudice" means ended for good: the same claim cannot be filed again.

The table lists every legal proceeding SafeOunce found that names the company. The court search is dated October 2, 2026, and the trademark record was read on September 29, 2026.

Proceeding Tribunal and number Filed What it was about Outcome Date
Preserve Gold Group, Inc. v. Lynch Mining, LLC U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, Cancellation No. 92085333 June 3, 2024 Preserve asked the Board to cancel another company's registered slogan "GOLD YOU CAN HOLD" (Reg. No. 6616738) Petition withdrawn January 31, 2025; cancellation denied with prejudice, proceeding terminated February 7, 2025
Federal court cases naming Preserve Gold Group, Inc. CourtListener dockets (RECAP archive) and opinions n/a n/a None found Searched October 2, 2026

Has Preserve Gold been in a lawsuit? What the court search shows#

No court lawsuit naming Preserve Gold Group, Inc. turned up in SafeOunce's search of federal dockets and court opinions on October 2, 2026. The three search results are listed below.

  • Federal dockets (CourtListener's RECAP archive), search "Preserve Gold Group": 0 results.
  • Published court opinions, same search: 0 results.
  • The looser phrase "Preserve Gold": 4 dockets and 1 opinion, all about other subjects. They are a federal tax case, a Brazilian oil-services bankruptcy, Bundy v. Obama and a California county land case.

CourtListener's archive is not a full copy of every federal docket. This search also does not cover state trial courts, such as the Los Angeles Superior Court, or private arbitrations, which are not public. As a lawsuit update, SafeOunce repeats this search each quarter and dates the result.

Preserve Gold Group, Inc. v. Lynch Mining, LLC (USPTO, 2024-2025)#

The only legal proceeding found is a trademark dispute that Preserve Gold started on June 3, 2024 and withdrew on January 31, 2025. It is a USPTO administrative proceeding, not a court lawsuit.

The case is Preserve Gold Group, Inc. v. Lynch Mining, LLC, at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, Cancellation No. 92085333. Preserve petitioned to cancel the registered mark "GOLD YOU CAN HOLD" (Registration No. 6616738). After the withdrawal, the Board denied the cancellation with prejudice and closed the proceeding on February 7, 2025. SafeOunce read this record on September 29, 2026.

"Preserve Gold lawsuit settlement amounts": there are none to report#

There are no Preserve Gold lawsuit settlement amounts, because SafeOunce found no lawsuit against the company to settle. On October 2, 2026, the results page for "preserve gold lawsuit" showed a CFTC press release about Red Rock Secured, a different California dealer. That case, CFTC v. Red Rock Secured (C.D. Cal. No. 2:23-cv-03680), ended in a consent order on April 23, 2024 (CFTC release 8898-24). The same page showed a news story about a Texas commemorative-coin lawsuit. Neither involves Preserve Gold.

Why a short court record is expected: arbitration and a four-year history#

A short court record is what you would expect from a four-year-old company whose contract sends every dispute to private arbitration. The three reasons are listed below.

  • Age: the BBB records July 6, 2022 as the business start date.
  • Arbitration: paragraph 12 of the June 2025 agreement says disputes "shall be determined by arbitration" before JAMS. A claim "will not be joined" with any other person's, so no class action is possible under this contract.
  • Deadline: claims must be filed "within one year and one day" (paragraph 12), which shortens the time for any case to start.

These clauses are not unique to Preserve. Its buyback example is word for word the one in Lear Capital's December 2025 terms. Lear also sets 24 hours to cancel and 1 year and 1 day for claims, which points to a shared template.

In Mathys v. The Hartford Gold Group (N.D. Ill. No. 1:20-cv-03927), a court enforced a similar clause at another seller and sent the claims to arbitration on December 7, 2020. So "no lawsuit found" means the public record is empty, not that no customer has ever had a dispute.

Regulator Actions Against Preserve Gold: None Found#

SafeOunce found no CFTC, SEC, FTC or California regulator action against Preserve Gold Group, Inc. in searches on October 2, 2026. The CFTC is the federal commodities regulator, which handles metals fraud. SafeOunce ran web searches limited to the sites cftc.gov, sec.gov and ftc.gov for the legal name. It did the same for the DFPI, California's financial regulator (dfpi.ca.gov), and the California Attorney General (oag.ca.gov). These were searches of the agencies' websites, not of their case files.

Regulator actions can take years to become public, so check again before you buy. Every case SafeOunce tracks is in our list of precious metals IRA enforcement actions.

"None found" is weaker than it sounds. Preserve's own contract says its sales representatives "are not licensed" (paragraph 4E, June 2025 agreement). A salesperson with no license has no license record for you to look up.

So who regulates gold IRA companies? Why metals dealers fall between agencies is explained on who regulates gold IRA companies.

What the Preserve Gold Contract Says About Each Complaint#

Of the three things the published complaint raised, today's Preserve Gold contract covers only delivery time. It contains no price match and no word on shipping charges. Preserve Gold publishes the agreement you sign, a nine-page Shipping and Transaction Agreement dated June 2025. The 2023 buyer signed an earlier version that SafeOunce has not read. Publishing it is a point in Preserve's favor.

The table matches each complaint point to what the website says and what the June 2025 agreement says.

Complaint point What the website says (Oct. 2, 2026) What the contract says (June 2025) What it means for your money
Price difference from a competitor "We will match or beat any competitor's pricing" No price-match clause; spread up to 20% on bullion, generally up to 34.99% in an IRA (para 4B, 4C); only written terms count (para 14) Get the match in writing before the 24 hours end
Shipping charge "Zero Hidden Fees" No clause on who pays shipping or insurance Ask for shipping on the invoice
Slow delivery Nothing read Delivery within 28 days after funds are verified, which can take up to 12 business days for a bank check (para 2A) Count from the day your money clears
Unanswered messages Nothing read Review invoices and give written notice "promptly" (para 12) Complain in writing, by email, and keep copies
Buyback (not in the complaint, but a promise of the same kind) "zero-fee buyback commitment ... at the highest market prices available" "NO GUARANTEED BUYBACK"; applicable laws "currently prohibit PGG from guaranteeing to repurchase" (para 5) Ask for today's buyback bid in writing
Calls (not in the complaint, but in every contract) Nothing read Consent to calls despite a Do-Not-Call listing (para 1) Tell the company in writing to stop

The buyback row follows the same rule as the price match: the website says "commitment", and the contract guarantees no buyback.

The same clause types appear in other gold IRA company contracts. All ten sellers' terms are compared on gold IRA company contracts.

Price: no price match in the contract, and a spread of up to 20% or 34.99%#

Preserve Gold's website promised to match or beat competitors' prices on October 2, 2026, but its contract promises no price match. The contract states a spread of up to 20% on bullion and generally up to 34.99% on IRA purchases. The contract defines the spread as the difference between Preserve's cost and the price it quotes you (paragraph 4A). Four quotes from the June 2025 agreement set the rule.

  • Paragraph 4A: "The purchase price Customer agrees to pay includes PGG's profit margin on that transaction."
  • Paragraph 14: "neither party has made or relied upon any representation or promise not expressly embodied herein."
  • Paragraph 7B: statements by representatives "are strictly opinions".
  • Paragraph 8: the customer "HAS THE OPTION OF DOING BUSINESS WITH SUCH PGG COMPETITORS".

The 20% figure covers cash bullion only. Paragraph 4B puts numismatic (collector) coins and Preserve's "exclusive" coins at up to 34.99%, even outside an IRA. A cash buyer steered into an exclusive coin falls under the higher figure. The complaint says "silver bullion" and does not name the product.

These figures are not caps. The contract calls them a general range and says your spread "could potentially be outside that general range" (paragraph 4C).

The table sets the complaint's 10.2% price gap beside the contract's two figures and shows what each means on $100,000 (metal price held flat). The buyback bid is what the dealer would pay to buy the metal back.

Spread assumed Rise needed to reach the seller's cost Rise needed with the buyback gap Day-one value at the buyback bid
10.2% (the customer's reported price gap, treated as a spread for illustration) 11.4% 16.8% $85,591
20% (top of the stated range, cash bullion) 25.0% 31.1% $76,250
34.99% (top of the stated range: IRA purchases, and numismatic or exclusive coins bought with cash) 53.8% 61.4% $61,963

The price gap this customer reported, about 10%, is inside the range today's contract states for cash bullion. A complaint about price is therefore hard to win after the 24-hour window, which is why the comparison has to happen before you agree. Every published spread range is compared on gold IRA markups and spreads.

The contract's own advice fits these numbers. Paragraph 6 says to hold metals "preferably five to ten years".

Test your own spread in the gold IRA break-even calculator.

Shipping charges: the contract does not mention them#

The June 2025 agreement is titled "Shipping and Transaction Agreement", yet it has no clause on who pays for shipping or insurance. Its nine pages cover loss in transit instead: Preserve refunds or replaces the metal within 60 days, at its own choice (paragraph 2A). In the published complaint, shipping was $816.14, or 0.81% of the payment.

Ask for the shipping and insurance cost as a line on the invoice before you pay. The FTC's Telemarketing Sales Rule requires sellers to disclose the total cost before you pay (16 CFR 310.3(a)(1)(i)). Shipping, card and other charges missing from fee summaries are listed on hidden gold IRA fees.

Delivery: 28 days from cleared funds, not from the order#

Preserve Gold's contract promises delivery within 28 days after it verifies your funds, not within 28 days of your order. Paragraph 2A of the June 2025 agreement sets delivery "within twenty-eight (28) days after PGG's verification that the Purchase Funds are backed by good funds". For a bank check this "may take up to twelve (12) business days". Good funds means money that has cleared the bank.

So the 36 days in the complaint can be late or on time, depending on how the customer paid, which the complaint does not say. Twelve business days is about 16 calendar days, so the latest contract date falls about 44 days after a check arrives (SafeOunce calculation).

The complaint's own dates show both outcomes under today's wording.

  • Funds verified on the order day, March 20, 2023: day 28 is April 17, 2023. The April 25 delivery came 8 days after it.
  • A bank check that took the full 12 business days, to April 5, 2023: day 28 is May 3, 2023. The April 25 delivery came 8 days before it.

Both lines are SafeOunce calculations. The payment method is not stated, and the 2023 agreement was not read.

The CFTC uses 28 days as its delivery test for metals bought on credit (CFTC release 8215-20, August 4, 2020). That test does not cover fully paid orders, so it is a yardstick here and not a rule. For IRA storage, paragraph 11 lets Preserve cancel and refund in full if it cannot deliver within 28 days. Ask for the funds-verified date and the ship date, in writing.

Cancellation: 24 hours from the invoice#

You have 24 hours from Preserve Gold's written invoice to cancel without penalty, and after that all sales are final. Paragraph 3 of the June 2025 agreement gives the rule. "Customer then has 24 hours to cancel the transaction without penalty." Changing your order inside that window, or within 7 days, does not give you a new deadline.

You can cancel by email to info@preservegold.com or by mail. A mailed notice is on time "if postmarked on the business day after a customer receives a written invoice". Preserve honors longer periods where a state requires them.

The customer in complaint 1 compared prices after the order had shipped. A price comparison can undo a sale only inside those 24 hours.

Can you sue Preserve Gold? Arbitration and the one-year-and-one-day deadline#

In most cases you cannot take Preserve Gold to court. The contract sends disputes to private JAMS arbitration and gives you one year and one day to file. JAMS is a private company that supplies retired judges as arbitrators. The four terms are listed below (paragraphs 10 and 12, June 2025 agreement).

  • Forum: the JAMS office closest to your home, before one retired judge.
  • Group claims: none. Your claim "will not be joined" with anyone else's.
  • Lawyers: "Each party will pay the fees and costs for his, her or its own attorneys", subject to remedies under state or federal law.
  • Cap: liability is "LIMITED SOLELY TO THE AMOUNT CUSTOMER ACTUALLY PAID", with no indirect or consequential damages.

The clock runs from the date the claim arises: the contract says "WITHIN ONE YEAR AND ONE DAY OF ITS ACCRUAL". The contract also admits this is shorter than the law may allow. "BUT FOR THIS WAIVER", it says, you "MIGHT HAVE A LONGER TIME PERIOD TO INITIATE A CLAIM UNDER STATE OR FEDERAL LAW" (paragraph 12).

The customer in the published complaint went to the BBB 329 days after ordering. Counted from the order date under today's wording, the deadline would have passed on March 21, 2024, 38 days later (SafeOunce calculation; the 2023 agreement was not read).

Two points help you. "Provisional remedies" in court stay available, and JAMS consumer minimum standards limit the consumer's fee to $250 where they apply (September 29, 2026).

Calls, commissions and "no fiduciary" clauses#

Three more clauses in the Preserve Gold contract matter if you later have a complaint: consent to sales calls, commission-paid representatives and no duty to act in your interest. The three clauses are listed below.

  • Calls: Preserve may call you "regardless of whether those numbers are listed on any state or federal 'Do Not Call' registry" (paragraph 1).
  • Commissions: representatives are "compensated on commission based at least partially on the volume and profit margin" and "are not licensed" (paragraph 4E).
  • Duty: "no fiduciary relationship exists" (paragraph 6).

The first clause is about gold IRA cold calls. How to stop gold IRA cold calls and what your Do-Not-Call rights cover is on our calls guide.

Tell the company in writing to stop calling. Keep a copy of that message with the date.

A fiduciary is someone legally bound to act in your best interest. What a fiduciary owes you, and why a salesperson is not one, is in our glossary.

How to Complain About or Report Preserve Gold, and Try to Get Money Back#

Start with a written complaint to Preserve Gold, then file with the BBB and the right regulator, and keep the one-year-and-one-day deadline in view. The 7 steps below run from the fastest remedy to the slowest.

  1. Cancel inside the 24-hour window by email (info@preservegold.com) and keep the sent copy.
  2. Write to the company with the order date, the invoice, each item's price and what you ask for.
  3. Ask your custodian (for an IRA) for the statement value and the depository record, and confirm the metal arrived.
  4. File a BBB complaint. The published one drew a reply in 8 days.
  5. Report to your state securities regulator and state attorney general if you were told to sell stocks or funds, or were misled about price.
  6. Tell the CFTC (866-366-2382, cftc.gov/complaint) if you were misled about price or markup.
  7. File for JAMS arbitration within one year and one day if nothing else works, and consider a lawyer.

The table matches each problem to the office that handles it (contacts checked September 29, 2026).

Problem Where to report Contact

The full guide to how to report a gold IRA company lists every agency's form.

No regulator case against Preserve Gold exists to draw on. In other dealers' cases, restitution has equaled what customers paid minus the metal's value, not a full refund. One example is the final judgment of September 30, 2025 in CFTC v. Safeguard Metals, C.D. Cal. No. 2:22-cv-00691 (CFTC release 9139-25).

Arbitration can award more, but only within the liability cap of paragraph 10: the amount you actually paid.

What cancellation, arbitration and restitution can do is explained on how to get your money back from a gold IRA company.

The deadlines that decide your options#

Four deadlines in the Preserve Gold contract decide what you can still do. They are 2 business days to pay, 24 hours to cancel, 28 days for delivery and 1 year and 1 day to bring a claim.

  • 2 business days: your funds are due. After that, Preserve may resell the metal, charge you any loss and keep any gain (paragraphs 2A and 2B).
  • 24 hours: the cancellation window, from the written invoice (paragraph 3).
  • 28 days: the delivery promise, from verified funds (paragraph 2A).
  • 1 year and 1 day: the limit for any claim, from the date it arises (paragraph 12).

Write each date on your invoice the day you receive it.

How to Check Preserve Gold Before You Choose It#

Before you agree to buy from Preserve Gold, get the price, the shipping cost, any price match and the delivery date in writing. Those are the points its one published complaint turned on. The step-by-step way to check a gold IRA company by its legal name is on our verification guide.

The 6 questions to ask Preserve Gold are listed below.

  1. Ask for the shipping and insurance cost as a line on the invoice.
  2. Ask for a competitor's quote on the same items before the 24-hour window ends.
  3. Ask for any price-match promise by email, with the competitor and the price named.
  4. Ask for the date your funds were verified and the ship date.
  5. Ask the spread percent for each item, and whether the IRA range of generally up to 34.99% applies to your order.
  6. Ask what Preserve would pay to buy the same items back today.

The contract itself says the spread "may be negotiable" (paragraph 4A), so ask. The full list of 12 questions is on how to choose a gold IRA company.

Complaints, court cases and state records use the legal name, so search "Preserve Gold Group, Inc." and not only "Preserve Gold". The three lookup keys are listed below.

  • Legal name on the contract: Preserve Gold Group, Inc.
  • BBB business details (October 2, 2026): a corporation, incorporated July 6, 2022. The BBB lists license number 5147000, issued by a Secretary of State office. You can search the legal name in California's business search at bizfileonline.sos.ca.gov.
  • Name collisions: searches for "preserve gold" return nature preserves, and "preserve gold lawsuit" returns cases about other companies.

Preserve Gold spokespeople and endorsements#

Preserve Gold's homepage features Dr. Phil McGraw, Chuck Holton, Kirk Cameron, Erick Stakelbeck and Pastor Allen Jackson, as of October 2, 2026. The homepage quotes endorsers as saying Preserve "has a 5-star rating". One calls it "the ONLY precious metals company I trust and recommend".

The CFTC warns in general that fraudulent dealers "target their ads to political or religious programming just to gain your trust". The words come from its March 2024 flier "Lies Versus Facts: The Truth Behind Gold and Silver IRA Scams", announced in CFTC release 8881-24. This is not an allegation against Preserve Gold. Who endorses which seller is tracked on celebrity gold IRA endorsements.

Does Preserve Gold pay review sites?#

Yes: Preserve Gold runs an affiliate program that pays websites per lead and a share of sales, according to its program page as captured on December 28, 2025. That page describes pay per lead, pay per qualified lead and a revenue share on "Total Sales". A lead counts as qualified once a representative has contacted it. The page adds 1% on the sales of affiliates a site recruits, with payment 15 business days after a sale. The amounts are set on a "consultation call" and are not published.

Several pages that rank for "Preserve Gold complaints" carry sales links to Preserve or to its rivals. That is one reason they report few or no complaints. SafeOunce takes no money from any company named on this page. Many review pages are paid when you contact a company; see who pays SafeOunce and what money cannot buy.

Is Preserve Gold a scam?#

No court or regulator has found Preserve Gold to be a scam. It is a California corporation with a published contract, and no regulator action was found as of October 2, 2026. The real risk is legal but can be expensive: a contract that states a spread of generally up to 34.99% on IRA purchases and counts only written promises. The warning signs of real gold IRA scams are on our scams guide.

Is it bad if a business is not BBB accredited?#

No: BBB accreditation is a paid membership, and a business can hold a high BBB grade without it. Preserve Gold is accredited (since September 6, 2022) and graded A+ as of October 2, 2026. The grade, not the badge, reflects how it handles complaints.

How does Preserve Gold work?#

Preserve Gold sells the metal, a separate custodian holds your IRA, and a depository stores the coins or bars. You agree a price by phone and receive a written invoice, and then the 24-hour cancellation clock starts. The steps, and what is known about Preserve Gold fees and minimums, are in our review.
