Noble Gold Investments is an operating gold IRA seller, legally Golden Bull, LLC of Encino, California. It has 3 BBB complaints in three years, and SafeOunce found no regulator action against it (September 29, 2026). Its account fees are published, but two of its pages disagree, and one says IRA gold can be kept at home. So the question is not whether Noble Gold is real, but what you pay and which of its statements you can rely on.
A gold IRA is a retirement account that holds physical gold through a custodian, the trust company that holds the account for you. Gold IRA companies are the dealers that set one up and sell you the metal. Noble Gold is one of the gold IRA companies SafeOunce checks with the same records, fees and contract questions. The BBB, or Better Business Bureau, is a nonprofit that grades how firms handle complaints.
This Noble Gold review covers its owner, record, terms, fees and $20,000 minimum. It also covers the markup Noble does not publish: the part of your price that is not metal, also called the spread. It prices a $100,000 account, checks Noble's storage, rare-coin and buyback wording against IRA rules, and says who Noble suits. It covers Noble Gold Investments (noblegoldinvestments.com), not Noble Gold Events or the affiliate sites noblegoldira.com and nobleassets.com.
The 13 facts below come from Noble Gold's website, the BBB, Trustpilot (a public review website), the California business registry and a federal court docket, each dated. The last row links to Noble's own site.

Our Noble Gold Verdict: Few Complaints, Clear Fees and Web Pages That Conflict With IRA Rules#
Noble Gold is a real, small seller with one of the cleanest complaint records, published account fees, and web pages that say things IRA rules do not allow. Noble Gold complaints at the BBB number 3 in three years (September 29, 2026), and the only court case found was one Noble brought. Each is summarized on Noble Gold complaints.
The spot price is today's market price for one ounce of raw metal, and Noble does not print how far above spot it sells. What should a careful buyer ask Noble Gold before sending money? Get four things in writing: the fee schedule, the price per coin with its percent over spot, the buyback formula and the signed purchase agreement.
Noble names its custodian and vault and offers segregated storage only. Look elsewhere if you have under $20,000 or want rare coins inside an IRA. Its buyback is called "guaranteed" on one page, with no published terms.
Who Is Noble Gold? Legal Name, Owner and How It Works#
Noble Gold Investments is a precious metals dealer in Encino, California, operating legally as Golden Bull, LLC. It sells gold, silver, platinum and palladium and arranges gold and silver IRAs. Its homepage claims "Over $2.5 Billion in Retirement Savings Secured" and "Over 16,000 U.S. Investors" (September 29, 2026), and SafeOunce has not checked either claim.
Why does the legal name matter? Court cases, state records and your contract use the legal name, not the brand.
Golden Bull, LLC, "Noble Gold, Inc." and Noble Gold Investments: the names to check#
Noble Gold's website uses two legal names, both on its terms page as of September 29, 2026. One disclaimer says "Golden Bull, LLC dba Noble Gold Investments", where "dba" means "doing business as". Another says "NOBLE GOLD, INC.". California business records (via OpenCorporates, a site that copies state registries) list Golden Bull, LLC as an active LLC, No. 201615310033, registered May 24, 2016. SafeOunce found no California registration under the name "Noble Gold, Inc." (September 29, 2026).
Search both names, plus "Noble Gold Investments", whenever you check a gold IRA company by its legal name.
Who owns Noble Gold?#
Noble Gold is run by its founder, Collin Plume, who is listed as president and CEO on Noble's site. California records also list him as the registered agent of Golden Bull, LLC, the person who accepts legal papers for the company (September 29, 2026). Golden Bull, LLC does not publish who owns it or in what shares. A "Golden Bull Ltd" that appears in SEC filings is unrelated: it is the former name of Bit Digital, Inc.
When was Noble Gold founded? 2016 records vs "more than 20 years"#
Public records date Noble Gold to 2016: the BBB lists a business start of May 14, 2016, and Golden Bull, LLC was registered in California on May 24, 2016. Noble's homepage says "More than 20 Years of Helping our Clients Protect their Wealth". Its who-we-are page (modified February 19, 2026) says "For more than a decade". Noble does not explain the 20-year figure. Review sites print 2016 (Clute Journals, BuildingIRAWealth) or 2017 (LendEDU).
How a Noble Gold IRA works, step by step#
A Noble Gold IRA works in 5 steps, from opening an account at the custodian to metal arriving in a vault in your IRA's name. A self-directed IRA can hold assets other than funds, such as metal. The custodian legally holds the IRA and sends your statements, and a depository is the vault. The 5 steps are listed below.
- Open a self-directed IRA at the custodian Noble names for gold, Equity Trust.
- Move money by a direct transfer ("3-7 days" per Noble's support page, "5-10 business days" per its gold IRA page).
- Choose coins or bars, and ask the price per coin and the percent over spot.
- Sign the order, and the custodian pays Noble from your IRA.
- Check that the metal reaches an International Depository Services (IDS) vault and shows on your statement.
The vault step is the law, not a Noble choice: IRA bullion must be "in the physical possession of a trustee" (26 U.S.C. 408(m)(3)(B)).
A gold IRA transfer moves money "from one custodian to another custodian without you taking receipt of the funds", as Noble's support page correctly says. A gold IRA transfer has no 60-day clock and no once-a-year limit, so ask Noble to use one.
Is Noble Gold a custodian?#
No: Noble Gold is the dealer that sells the metal, even though its gold IRA page says "Noble Gold is the only custodian offering a flat-fee structure". The custodian is Equity Trust, and its own metals-only fee schedule is already a flat $285 a year at any balance (Rev. 081726, read September 29, 2026). The SEC, the federal investor-protection agency, warns that "self-directed IRA custodians generally do not evaluate the quality or legitimacy of any investment" (SEC investor alert).
Noble Gold's Complaint and Regulatory Record#
Noble Gold's record shows 3 BBB complaints in three years, one lawsuit that Noble itself filed, and no regulator action found, as of September 29, 2026. That is among the cleanest of ten well-known sellers SafeOunce tracks, though Noble is also smaller than most. The table sums up its complaint record and regulatory record.
| Record item | Noble Gold | Date and source |
|---|---|---|
| BBB grade and accreditation | A+, accredited since January 23, 2017 | BBB, September 29, 2026 |
| BBB complaints and reviews | 3 complaints closed in 3 years; 242 reviews | BBB, September 29, 2026 |
| Complaints per 100 BBB reviews | 1.2 | SafeOunce computation, September 29, 2026 |
| Trustpilot | 4.9 from 796 reviews; 93% five-star, 1% one-star; invites reviews | Trustpilot, September 29, 2026 |
| Lawsuits naming Golden Bull, LLC | 1, with Noble as the plaintiff (the side that sues) | C.D. Cal. No. 2:23-cv-06190, dismissed September 5, 2023 (per the court docket) |
| Customer lawsuits found | 0 | Federal court searches, September 29, 2026 |
| CFTC, SEC and state regulator actions | None found | SafeOunce searches, September 29, 2026 |
Each complaint and the court file are summarized on Noble Gold complaints and lawsuits.
BBB and Trustpilot numbers, and their limits#
Noble Gold has 3 BBB complaints closed in three years against 242 BBB reviews, or 1.2 complaints per 100 reviews, as of September 29, 2026. Its grade is A+, and it has held BBB accreditation, a paid membership, since January 23, 2017. Noble's homepage badge says "265+ Reviews on Better Business Bureau"; the profile showed 242 that day.
How much does an A+ tell you? In the BBB's method, 90 of the 100 positive points relate to complaints, and reviews do not count.
Sales figures are not public, so SafeOunce uses BBB reviews as a rough stand-in for customer numbers. The table ranks ten gold IRA sellers by BBB complaints per 100 BBB reviews (September 29, 2026).
| Company | BBB complaints per 100 BBB reviews |
|---|---|
| Lear Capital | 22.1 |
| American Hartford Gold | 13.9 |
| Priority Gold | 6.0 |
| Goldco | 4.2 |
| Birch Gold Group | 4.0 |
| Preserve Gold | 1.6 |
| Noble Gold | 1.2 |
| Augusta Precious Metals | 0.7 |
| Patriot Gold Group | 0 |
| Advantage Gold | 0 (9 reviews) |
Counts grow with sales volume, and disputes settled privately never reach the BBB. Source: BBB profiles, September 29, 2026.
On Trustpilot, Noble scores 4.9 from 796 reviews: 93% five-star and 1% one-star (September 29, 2026). Noble invites customers to review it, as do Augusta, Lear, Priority and Preserve, so their reviews include prompted ones; Goldco's profile is marked as not inviting reviews. Trustpilot also adds seven 3.5-star reviews to every company's score.
Which gold IRA company has the best reviews? Star ratings do not separate the top ten. All sit between 4.4 and 5.0 on Trustpilot, and five-star shares run from 89% to 99% (September 29, 2026). Complaint counts and contracts tell you more.
What unhappy Noble Gold customers report about prices, selling and slow replies#
Noble Gold's 13 one- and two-star Trustpilot reviews, visible on September 29, 2026, repeat two complaints: prices higher than the buyer expected, and slow handling of sales and requests. These are reviewer statements, which SafeOunce has not verified: 13 reviews against 796. The four patterns below each come with one step that protects you.
- Prices and markups (4 reviews): one reviewer reports paying "10%" over spot on gold and "16%+" on silver (October 2023). Another says "10%" of a rollover went to unexplained fees or commissions (January 2025). Ask the percent over spot for each coin in writing.
- Slow sales and replies (4 reviews): one seller reports four weeks without a response on a sale, losing more than $120,000 in value while waiting (February 2026). Ask how many days a sale takes and when the price is locked.
- A promised silver bonus not received (1 review, December 2024): get any bonus written into the signed order.
- Bar serial numbers refused (1 review, April 2024): ask for serial numbers on the invoice.
Noble replied to the February 2026 seller that buyback requests are handled "in queue order" and priced at spot "at confirmation". Learn how to sell gold in your IRA before you buy.
Court cases: one lawsuit, filed by Noble Gold over an endorsement deal#
The only federal case SafeOunce found involving Noble Gold's company was brought by Noble itself, over an endorsement agreement. An endorsement agreement pays a well-known person to promote a company.
Golden Bull, LLC v. Kirk M. Elliott (U.S. District Court, Central District of California, No. 2:23-cv-06190) claimed tortious interference and defamation over an "exclusive endorsement agreement". Tortious interference means wrongly disrupting another firm's contract. According to the court docket, the case ended on September 5, 2023, with Golden Bull's claims dismissed (CourtListener docket).
No customer lawsuit against Golden Bull, LLC was found in federal court searches on September 29, 2026; the govinfo court-opinion database returned none for "Golden Bull".
Regulator actions: none found#
SafeOunce found no CFTC, SEC or state regulator action against Golden Bull, LLC or Noble Gold Investments in searches on September 29, 2026. The CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) is the federal agency that polices fraud in physical metals sales. Regulator actions can take years to become public, so check again before you buy. A 1998 CFTC case against "Noble Wealth" concerns a different firm.
Other sellers do appear in precious metals IRA enforcement actions, which SafeOunce tracks case by case.
Awards, "best" labels and review sites#
Money's editorial list of September 25, 2026 names Noble Gold "Best for Diverse Storage Options", a label it has held since at least January 2025. Its place on Money's list is editorial, not in the paid "Our Partner" block. Money quotes the support-page fees, an "$80 account fee and a $150 fee for insurance and segregated storage". Noble's homepage (read September 29, 2026) lists media names such as Fox, Forbes and CNBC under "As Featured In", which are mentions, not awards.
Noble appears on 4 of 9 "best" lists SafeOunce checked. TipRanks' list, labelled "Sponsored Content", shows a "~$2,000" minimum (June 30, 2026).
How gold IRA review sites are paid is rarely shown on the sites themselves.
Noble Gold's Contract Terms: What Is Public and What Is Not#
Noble Gold publishes website terms but not the purchase agreement you sign, so its cancellation window, arbitration rules and claim deadline cannot be checked before you call. Arbitration means a private judge decides a dispute instead of a court, and JAMS is a private arbitration company. A claim deadline is how long you have to bring a dispute.
The table compares the contract terms of four sellers, from documents read on September 29, 2026.
| Term | Noble Gold | American Hartford Gold (agreement, Sept. 2026) | Lear Capital (terms, Dec. 2025) | Preserve Gold (agreement, June 2025) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Agreement public | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Spread range stated | Not published | Bullion 1%-19.99%; other coins up to 39.99% or 59.99% | 2%-35% | Bullion up to 20%; IRA orders generally up to 34.99% |
| Cancellation window | Not published | 7 days, non-bullion only | 24 hours | 24 hours |
| Arbitration | None in website terms; agreement unknown | JAMS | JAMS, 30-day opt-out | JAMS |
| Claim deadline | Not public | 1 year | 1 year + 1 day | 1 year + 1 day |
| Buyback wording | "Guaranteed" and "top-rated", no terms | Law prohibits a guarantee | Law prohibits a guarantee | Law prohibits a guarantee |
Gold IRA company contracts differ most on markup caps and cancellation.
Noble Gold's website terms name Goldco#
Noble Gold's website terms say "Goldco shall make reasonable efforts ship metals within five to fourteen (5-14) business days", naming a competitor instead of Noble. The same page, read on September 29, 2026 and last changed February 12, 2025, says "The testimonials presented on goldco.com are applicable to the individuals writing them".
Goldco's own terms carry the same shipping sentence. The wording appears to be copied from Goldco's terms without being edited; SafeOunce found no business connection between the two firms.
How long you have to cancel a Noble Gold order and get money back#
Noble Gold does not publish a cancellation window for metal purchases, as of September 29, 2026. A cancellation window is the time you have to undo an order, and rivals allow little. Lear Capital and Preserve Gold give 24 hours, and American Hartford Gold 7 days for non-bullion only. Augusta's FAQ (updated September 23, 2026) says up to 7 calendar days.
No court record shows Noble refusing a cancellation; there is simply nothing public to check.
Whether you can get your money back from a gold IRA company depends on these terms.
Delivery time: 5 to 14 business days, or up to 45, and how to check delivery#
Noble Gold's website terms say orders ship within "5-14 business days after receipt of good funds" and may wait until "45 business days", which is about nine weeks. Good funds are money that has cleared, and "personal checks take a minimum of twelve (12) days to clear". Goldco's terms carry the identical sentence, so the text appears to be shared, not written for Noble.
The CFTC treats delivery within 28 days of payment as the line for "actual delivery" (CFTC release 8215-20, August 4, 2020). Get the delivery date in writing.
After 28 days, check delivery on your custodian statement.
Arbitration, claim deadlines and liability limits#
Noble Gold's website terms contain no arbitration clause, but whether its purchase agreement has one, and how long you would have to bring a claim, is not public. For parcels lost in shipping, Noble may refund or replace "in its sole discretion", "the customer's sole and exclusive remedy". In plain English: Noble chooses the fix.
Every live dealer agreement SafeOunce has read has an arbitration clause, and consumer filing fees are capped at $225 (AAA) or $250 (JAMS). Ask three questions before you sign. Is there arbitration, where, and who pays? Is there an opt-out? Is there a one-year claim deadline?
Noble Gold Fees in 2026: Two Pages, Two Prices#
Noble Gold's support page lists $80 to set up and $275 a year, while its gold IRA page lists $50 and $285 a year. SafeOunce read both pages on September 29, 2026. Those account fees are the small part of the cost; the markup on the coins, covered below, is the large part. The table sets Noble's two fee pages side by side.
| Fee | Support page (modified Sept. 14, 2026) | Gold IRA page (modified July 27, 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | $80 | $50 |
| Custodial or account maintenance, yearly | $125 | $125 |
| Segregated storage, yearly | $150 | $160 |
| Yearly total | $275 | $285 |
| Year 1 total | $355 | $335 |
| Account closure | Not listed | $250 |
| In-kind distribution | Not listed | $75 |
| Wire | Not listed | $30 |
Segregated storage keeps your coins apart and returns the same pieces. Commingled, or non-segregated, storage is shared: you get back the same type and amount, and both are allocated to you. Noble's support page says "some companies advertise an annual fee of $160 ... but that typically refers to commingled storage" and adds "We do not recommend commingled storage".
How do these prices compare? Noble's $150 storage claim is below every segregated price in SafeOunce's 2026 storage grid: Equity Trust $160, STRATA $175 and GoldStar from $225. At Equity Trust, segregated storage costs $50 more than commingled.
Do not count on a fee waiver. Two ranking pages say Noble waives fees: "waived first-year fees for qualifying IRAs" (Facebook answers page, undated) and the $80 setup "waived for larger accounts" (Clute Journals, September 2025). Neither Noble fee page mentions a waiver (September 29, 2026).
Every custodian and seller is compared on gold IRA fees.
Which Noble Gold fee page matches Equity Trust's fee schedule?#
Noble's gold IRA page matches the current metals-only fee schedule of Equity Trust, the custodian Noble names, on five of six lines. The support page's $80 and $150 match no Equity Trust schedule SafeOunce read. The table compares Noble's two pages with Equity Trust's Precious Metals (Only) Fee Schedule, FS-0004-05 Rev. 081726 (read September 29, 2026).
| Fee | Noble support page | Noble gold IRA page | Equity Trust FS-0004-05 Rev. 081726 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setup | $80 | $50 | $50 |
| Annual | $125 | $125 | $125 |
| Segregated storage | $150 | $160 | $160 |
| Non-segregated storage | Not offered | Not offered | $110 |
| Closure or termination | Not listed | $250 | $250 |
| In-kind distribution | Not listed | $75 | $125 |
| Wire | Not listed | $30 | $30 |
One line on the support page reads the schedule backwards. On Equity Trust's schedule, $160 is the price of segregated storage, and commingled storage costs $110. Dealer channels can have their own custodian schedules, so ask Noble which schedule and revision date apply to your account.
Equity Trust's direct Universal IRA schedule (FS-0001-01 Rev. 110625) starts at $350 a year plus storage; which schedule applies to you depends on how the account is opened. All four schedules are on Equity Trust fees.
Termination and exit fees: selling, moving and closing a Noble Gold IRA#
Noble's gold IRA page lists a $250 account closure fee, a $75 in-kind distribution fee and a $30 wire fee, while its support page lists no exit costs. An in-kind distribution means taking the coins themselves out of the IRA. The three exit routes are listed below.
- Sell and close: $30 per sale + $250 termination = $280 at Equity Trust; $250 + $30 wire = $280 on Noble's page.
- Take the coins out in kind and close: up to $375 at Equity Trust ($125 + $250); $325 on Noble's page ($75 + $250).
- Move to another custodian: up to $375 at Equity Trust ($125 transfer out + $250).
Equity Trust's schedule does not say whether both charges apply on one full exit, hence "up to". Other custodians' gold IRA termination fees differ.
Noble Gold Minimum Investment: $20,000, Not $2,000#
Noble Gold's minimum is $20,000 for a gold or silver IRA and $10,000 for a cash purchase delivered to you, as of September 29, 2026. Its gold IRA page lists "One Time Minimum Investment $20,000", but three ranking pages print less. The table shows who says what.
| Source | Minimum shown | Date |
|---|---|---|
| noblegoldinvestments.com gold IRA page | $20,000 IRA; $10,000 cash purchase | September 29, 2026 |
| BuildingIRAWealth and Clute Journals | $20,000 | 2026 and September 2025 |
| MintedMetal | $2,000 | April 15, 2026 |
| rollover401kintogoldira.com | $2,000 IRA; $50,000 non-IRA | Undated |
| TipRanks ("Sponsored Content") | "~$2,000" | June 30, 2026 |
The IRS sets no minimum. The 2026 IRA contribution limit is $7,500, plus $1,100 at age 50 or older (IRS Notice 2025-67), so most Noble accounts start with a transfer or rollover. Noble's non-IRA Royal Survival Packs start at $5,000 (support page, September 29, 2026), below the $10,000 cash figure.
Gold IRA minimums by company differ by tens of thousands of dollars: Birch lists $5,000 and Goldco $25,000 (September 29, 2026).
What $275 to $285 a year means for small investors at the $20,000 minimum#
At Noble's $20,000 minimum, $275 to $285 a year in account fees equals 1.375% to 1.425% of your balance every year, before any markup. In year one, with setup, the cost is $355, or 1.775% (support page), or $335, or 1.675% (gold IRA page). The same fees are only 0.275% to 0.285% of $100,000. For comparison, Goldco's $275 a year on its $25,000 minimum is 1.10% (September 29, 2026).
Fees are only part of it. The table adds the spread and the buyback gap to ten years of fees on $20,000. It uses the same method as the $100,000 example below: hypothetical spreads, metal price flat.
| Spread | Spread + buyback-gap loss | 10-year total with $2,830 fees | 10-year total with $2,900 fees | Share of $20,000 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5% | $1,891 | $4,721 | $4,791 | 23.6%-24.0% |
| 10% | $2,844 | $5,674 | $5,744 | 28.4%-28.7% |
| 20% | $4,750 | $7,580 | $7,650 | 37.9%-38.3% |
| 30% | $6,656 | $9,486 | $9,556 | 47.4%-47.8% |
At the minimum, a 10% spread plus fees takes more than a quarter of your money if gold does not rise. Fixed fees matter most near the minimum, so compare the best gold IRA companies for small investors.
The Cost Noble Gold Does Not Publish: the Spread on Its Coins#
Noble Gold does not publish its coin prices or its spread, so the largest cost of a Noble Gold IRA appears only on your invoice. The spread is the share of your price that is not metal, and dealers quote it as a "percent over spot". Noble quotes prices by phone; none are listed on noblegoldinvestments.com as of September 29, 2026.
Noble is not unusual: of 15 operating sellers SafeOunce checked, only 4 publish a spread range and only 1 publishes live prices. The CFTC says legitimate dealers' spreads are often under 20%, while fraudulent ones have run over 300% (CFTC "10 Things", 2024).
How big is that hidden cost in dollars? It depends on the spread and on the bid, the price a dealer pays you back. Every published range is on gold IRA markups and spreads.
How much gold must rise before you break even#
At a 20% spread, gold must rise about 31% before a customer who sells back gets back to even. The extra rise is needed because a dealer's buyback bid sits below its own cost. The table shows the rise needed at four spreads.
| Spread | Rise needed to reach the dealer's cost | Rise needed including the buyback gap |
|---|---|---|
| 5% | 5.3% | 10.4% |
| 10% | 11.1% | 16.6% |
| 20% | 25.0% | 31.1% |
| 30% | 42.9% | 49.9% |
Illustration using the industry buyback template (bid 4.69% below dealer cost; Lear Capital terms, December 2025, and Preserve Gold agreement, June 2025). Noble's own spread and bid are not published.
One Trustpilot reviewer reports paying 10% over spot on gold (October 2023, unverified). A 10% spread alone needs a 16.6% rise to break even on a sale back.
Test your own spread in the gold IRA break-even calculator.
What a "flat fee structure" on metal purchases does and does not tell you#
Noble's support page answers its own question on metal prices with "We offer a flat fee structure", but gives no fee, percentage or price. The full answer reads "We offer a flat fee structure when you acquire the metals from us" (read September 29, 2026). A flat fee could mean a fixed dollar charge per order or a fixed percentage on every coin. Noble's homepage (modified August 3, 2026) also claims "Lowest fees in the industry", which SafeOunce cannot test without prices.
What a $100,000 Noble Gold IRA Costs: Year 1 and 10 Years#
A $100,000 Noble Gold IRA costs $335 to $355 in account fees in year one and $2,830 to $2,900 over ten years, depending on which Noble page is right. If you sell back, a spread of 5% to 30% adds $9,453 to $33,281 more. The table shows the published fees for year one and ten years, from both pages.
| Cost | Support page: year 1 | Support page: 10 years | Gold IRA page: year 1 | Gold IRA page: 10 years |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Setup | $80 | $80 | $50 | $50 |
| Custodial or maintenance | $125 | $1,250 | $125 | $1,250 |
| Storage | $150 | $1,500 | $160 | $1,600 |
| Dealer spread | Not published | Not published | Not published | Not published |
| Total published fees | $355 | $2,830 | $335 | $2,900 |
Exit fees are not included. The gold IRA page's $250 closure fee brings its 10-year total to $3,150; sale fees depend on the custodian.
The table adds the spread and buyback gap to Noble's published fees, with the metal price held flat.
| Spread | Day-one sale value of $100,000 | Spread + buyback-gap loss | 10-year total with $2,830 fees | 10-year total with $2,900 fees | Share of $100,000 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5% | $90,547 | $9,453 | $12,283 | $12,353 | 12.3%-12.4% |
| 10% | $85,781 | $14,219 | $17,049 | $17,119 | 17.0%-17.1% |
| 20% | $76,250 | $23,750 | $26,580 | $26,650 | 26.6%-26.7% |
| 30% | $66,719 | $33,281 | $36,111 | $36,181 | 36.1%-36.2% |
Your first custodian statement values metal at market value, not at what you paid. Equity Trust's disclosure says statement values "do not include any markups, commissions or premiums from the precious metals dealer". At a 20% spread, a $100,000 purchase can show as about $80,000 of metal before any buyback gap.
For comparison, buying and selling a 1-ounce Gold Eagle the same day at a large online dealer costs about 5% to 7% (SD Bullion snapshot, 5.39%, September 29, 2026).
Noble's account fees are close to its custodian's own. Over ten years on $100,000, including a sale and closure, Equity Trust's metals-only schedule costs $2,680 with commingled storage and $3,180 with segregated storage (2026 schedules). A gold ETF in a brokerage IRA costs $1,000 (GLDM, 0.10% a year) to $4,000 (GLD, 0.40%) in expense ratios over the same ten years (September 29, 2026).

Noble Gold Home Storage: What Its Own Pages Say and What the Law Says#
Noble Gold's gold IRA page tells readers they can store their gold at home, but IRA gold kept at home is treated as a taxable distribution. A distribution is money taken out of the IRA, and it is taxed. Noble's own homepage says the opposite: IRA metal "must be stored in an IRS-approved depository (not at home)". The IRS approves no depository, but the homepage's main point, not at home, is correct.
The table shows what two Noble pages said on September 29, 2026.
| Page | Last modified | Statement |
|---|---|---|
| Gold IRA page (FAQ "Where is my Gold Stored?") | July 27, 2026 | "You have the option to either store your gold at home or at a secure depository in Texas." |
| Homepage | August 3, 2026 | "must be stored in an IRS-approved depository (not at home)" |
The Tax Court applied this rule in McNulty v. Commissioner, 157 T.C. No. 10 (November 18, 2021). Coins an IRA owner kept at home were treated as distributions of their cost. Home delivery is fine for metal you buy outside an IRA with cash, which Noble also sells.
This review reports page text only, not how Noble stores anyone's metal. Stop and ask the custodian in writing if anyone suggests keeping IRA coins at home or in a safe-deposit box.
A home storage gold IRA fails the trustee test, whatever a sales page says.
Rare coins, Morgan dollars and the IRS collectibles rule#
Noble's rare-coins page pitches graded Morgan silver dollars for IRAs, but most rare coins are collectibles that an IRA cannot hold. The page (modified May 7, 2025) offers "Morgan Silver Dollars (NGC MS68)", including an 1879 and an 1881 dollar. It also says "we can help you purchase coins to invest into your Gold or Silver IRA".
A graded coin is sealed and scored by a grading company such as NGC or PCGS; MS68 is its score.
The IRS collectibles rule is the test. A collectible is the tax code's term for coins, art, stamps and similar items. Under 26 U.S.C. 408(m)(1), an IRA's purchase of one is treated as a distribution of its cost. Section 408(m)(2)(D) names "any stamp or coin". The IRS collectibles rule page explains why.
The exceptions are in 26 U.S.C. 408(m)(3): named US coins (Gold, Silver and Platinum Eagles and state coins), and bullion at futures fineness (gold .995, silver .999, platinum and palladium .9995) held by the trustee. Classic Morgan dollars (1878-1904 and 1921) are 90% silver, as Noble's page says, and fail both routes. The same page does list coins that qualify, such as the American Silver Eagle and Canadian Maple Leaf.
Morgans from 2021 on are .999 collector coins, not named in the statute, and custodian acceptance is unverified. The full test for Morgan and Peace silver dollars in an IRA is on the product page.
Noble Gold's "IRS-approved" claims about metals and depositories#
Noble's pages call its metals and vaults "IRS-approved", but the IRS keeps no list of approved coins, bars, mints or depositories. Its gold IRA page says "Noble Gold only sells IRS-approved metals". Its homepage mentions an "IRS-approved depository" and metal "From an IRS-approved mint or refiner".
The only IRS approval list covers nonbank trustees under Treas. Reg. 1.408-2(e): 73 entities as of April 1, 2026, and no coin, mint or vault.
The tax code defines IRA-eligible precious metals by name and fineness in 26 U.S.C. 408(m)(3). Readers often search for "IRA-approved precious metals"; that page lists what the law actually allows.
Noble's depository guide (March 12, 2025) says "There are currently 11 IRS-approved depositories that are permitted by the United States government". Its list includes First State Depository, the subject of a CFTC restraining order dated September 29, 2022. First State held 2,102 accounts, 90% of them IRAs, and its owner, Robert Leroy Higgins, was sentenced to 65 years on June 17, 2025.
A dealer's list protected no one at First State Depository.
Noble Gold Buyback: "Guaranteed", "Top-Rated" or Neither?#
Noble Gold describes its buyback in four ways on four pages, and none states a price formula, a payment time or a fee (September 29, 2026). A buyback is the dealer buying your metal back from you. The four wordings are listed below.
- Who-we-are page (modified February 19, 2026): "Our guaranteed buyback program removes uncertainty ... if you purchased from us, we'll buy it back. No questions, no hassle."
- Homepage and gold IRA page: "top-rated buyback program".
- Support page: "We offer a Buyback program to ensure that you are not left with finding a buyer".
- Rare-coins page: "we'll buy back your coins at a fair price".
Dealers that publish contracts say the opposite. American Hartford Gold's 2026 agreement says "applicable laws currently prohibit AHG from guaranteeing to repurchase", and Lear Capital, Preserve Gold, Goldline and American Bullion agree. Contract buybacks usually pay a wholesaler's "highest list bid", below its selling price.
Gold IRA buyback programs compared side by side show the same gap between marketing and contract.
Noble Gold Products and Promotions: Bullion, Rare Coins and Survival Packs#
Noble Gold sells IRA-eligible bullion coins and bars, rare and graded coins, and non-IRA "Royal Survival Packs" from $5,000 to $500,000 (support page, September 29, 2026). Bullion means coins and bars valued for their metal; a proof coin has a collector finish and costs more. The four product groups and the IRA rule for each are listed below.
- Bullion coins: the American Gold Eagle is eligible by name (26 U.S.C. 408(m)(3)(A)); Maple Leaf, Kangaroo and Philharmonic coins qualify at .995 gold or finer, though custodian acceptance varies.
- Bars: gold at .995, silver at .999, and platinum and palladium at .9995 or finer.
- Rare and graded coins: mostly collectibles, as covered above.
- Survival Packs and home delivery: cash purchases only, never inside an IRA.
The American Gold Eagle in an IRA is a special case: it is only .9167 fine, yet the tax code names it.
The CFTC calls "semi-numismatic", a label for graded coins, "a made-up industry term" (2024). For an IRA, ask for 1-ounce bullion coins or bars and each one's percent over spot.
Noble's depository guide shows a banner, "Get A Free Gold Coin When You Open A Gold IRA Account", with no terms (September 29, 2026). In a paid press release (February 27, 2026), Noble's CEO said "free silver" offers of "$10,000, $15,000, or $20,000" are "a massive red flag". One reviewer reports a promised silver bonus never arrived (December 2024, unverified). Ask for any free coin's value and conditions on the signed order.
Gold IRA promotions cost the seller money, so ask where it comes from.
Noble Gold Custodians and Depositories#
Noble Gold names its custodians, Equity Trust for gold and New Direction for silver, and its vault company, IDS, on its support page (September 29, 2026). Naming the custodian and vault is more than most sellers publish.
FDIC insurance (for bank deposits) and SIPC protection (for brokerage accounts) never cover IRA metal. Vault insurance pays the metal's value, not the premium you paid.
Gold IRA custodians differ in charter, the state license to hold IRAs, and in fees.
Ask Noble the three custody questions listed below before you sign.
- Which custodian and which fee schedule apply, with its revision date?
- Which vault and city will hold the metal, and is it titled to my IRA?
- Is the storage segregated, and does it cost $150 or $160 a year?
Gold IRA depositories differ in location and insurance cover.
Equity Trust for gold, New Direction for silver#
Noble's support page sends gold IRAs to Equity Trust, which it calls both "Equity Institutional" and "Equity Trust IRA", and silver IRAs to "New Direction IRA Services". Equity Trust's schedule is compared with Noble's fee pages above.
New Direction IRA became New Direction Trust Company (NDTCO) in 2018, and Kansas regulates it. NDTCO lists $220 a year for metals administration ($185 online) and $130 per purchase or sale, plus the vault's storage (ndtco.com, September 29, 2026). Its current schedule is explained on our page about New Direction Trust Company.
Ask Noble whether its $275 to $285 flat fee also covers a silver IRA at New Direction.
A silver IRA holds .999 silver or the named 1-ounce Silver Eagle.
IDS vaults in Texas, Delaware and Canada: is offshore storage allowed?#
Noble stores IRA metal with International Depository Services, a division of the bullion wholesaler Dillon Gage, in Dallas, New Castle (Delaware) and Mississauga, Ontario. Noble's support page (read September 29, 2026) promises "segregated storage. Your physical gold and silver will be held under your name", insured by an "all-risk policy underwritten by Lloyd's of London". IDS publishes no insurance limit and no fees. IDS's own pages contradict each other on storage type, so get "segregated" written on the custodian's storage record.
The same support page calls the vaults "COMEX/CME, LBMA and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) approved". COMEX, the US futures exchange, lists only IDS of Delaware (approved 2016); IDS of Texas is not listed (CME depository report, September 28, 2026). Locations and insurance for International Depository Services (IDS) are on its profile.
Noble's Texas page (read September 29, 2026) says "Noble Gold is the only company that stores gold in Texas". The Texas Bullion Depository in Leander and the Texas Precious Metals Depository in Shiner also hold IRA metal.
Canada is the open question: Noble lists Mississauga, "just outside of Toronto", and no IRS ruling covers IRA gold stored offshore. Whether IRA gold stored offshore is allowed is explained on our offshore storage page.
Noble Gold Rollovers: What Its FAQ Leaves Out#
Noble Gold's support page says a 60-day rollover is fine "as long as the 60 day rule is satisfied", but it leaves out three rules that can cost you tax. In a rollover, the money is paid to you, and you must deposit it in the new IRA within 60 days.
The 60-day rollover rule has its own traps in counting the days.
The three rules the FAQ leaves out are listed below.
- The one-rollover-per-year rule: only one IRA-to-IRA 60-day rollover is allowed in any 12 months, across all your IRAs (IRS Announcement 2014-15).
- The 20% withholding: a 401(k) or other employer plan that pays you directly must withhold 20% for federal tax (IRC 3405(c)). Withholding is tax taken out before you get the money.
- The same-property rule: the money that came out must go back in, not coins bought in between (Estate of Caan, 161 T.C. No. 6, 2023).
Noble's own FAQ correctly favors the direct route: "With a transfer, you don't have to do anything." It estimates "3-7 days" on its support page and "5-10 business days" on its gold IRA page.
In the choice of direct vs indirect rollover, only the direct route avoids the 20% withholding.
Noble Gold Pros and Cons#
Noble Gold's six strengths are a clean record and published account details; its six weaknesses are prices, terms and web statements that do not hold up. The table sets them side by side, as of September 29, 2026.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| 3 BBB complaints in 3 years (1.2 per 100 reviews) | Two fee pages disagree ($275 or $285 a year) |
| No regulator action or customer lawsuit found | No coin prices or spread published |
| Account fees, custodian and vault named | Purchase agreement not public, and its website terms name Goldco |
| $20,000 minimum clearly stated | Gold IRA page offers home storage for IRA gold |
| Segregated storage only | Rare-coins page pitches collectibles for IRAs; "IRS-approved" wording |
| Homepage correctly says IRA metal cannot be kept at home | "Guaranteed" buyback without terms |
Who Noble Gold Suits, and Who Should Walk Away#
Noble Gold suits a buyer moving $20,000 or more who buys plain bullion, keeps it in a US vault and gets the fee schedule, prices and buyback terms in writing. It does not suit anyone below $20,000, anyone shopping for rare coins inside an IRA, or anyone who wants a public contract before calling. The table gives a verdict for seven reader situations.
| If you... | Verdict | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Have under $20,000 | Not eligible | Noble's minimum is $20,000. A gold ETF in an existing IRA costs 0.10% (GLDM) to 0.40% (GLD) a year (September 29, 2026): see gold IRA vs gold ETF |
| Move $20,000 to $50,000 | Workable if bullion only | Account fees equal 0.55% to 1.43% of your balance a year |
| Move $50,000 to $100,000 | Workable | Fees fall under 0.6% a year; the spread decides the cost |
| Move $100,000 or more | Fees become minor | 0.29% a year or less; insist on a written spread |
| Want a written contract first | Ask for the purchase agreement before any call ends | If Noble will not send it, walk away |
| Want a Texas or Canada vault | Texas yes (IDS Dallas); Canada only with the custodian's written approval | No IRS ruling covers foreign storage |
| Need the money within 5 years | Think twice | At a 20% spread, gold must rise about 31% just to break even |
You should ask Noble Gold the 5 questions below before any money moves.
- Ask which fee schedule applies, $275 or $285 a year, and for its revision date.
- Ask the price per coin and the percent over spot for each item.
- Ask what Noble would pay for the same coins tomorrow, and how many days a sale takes.
- Ask for the purchase agreement and invoice by email before paying.
- Ask which vault and city will hold your metal, in writing.
These five come from our 12-question checklist on how to choose a gold IRA company.
How SafeOunce Rates Noble Gold#
SafeOunce rates Noble Gold on 7 criteria worth 100 points, from documents and a written price quote, and any item Noble does not disclose scores zero. Noble's rating is pending: five criteria worth 55 points still need a written quote, the purchase agreement or a test call (September 29, 2026). The rating card above is computed from methodology version 1.0, not written by hand.
The table lists each criterion, its points and Noble Gold's inputs as of September 29, 2026.
| Criterion (methodology v1.0) | Points | Noble Gold inputs (September 29, 2026) | Data source | Status |

Noble Gold triggers none of the exclusion gates (closed, sanctioned, watch) as of September 29, 2026. If it does not send a written quote and its purchase agreement within 10 business days of a documented request, it is listed as "Not rated: would not disclose". Weights and evidence rules are on how SafeOunce rates gold IRA companies.
How Does Noble Gold Compare With Other Gold IRA Companies?#
Noble Gold has fewer complaints than most rivals and publishes its account fees, but, like most of them, it does not publish its prices or spread. Its $20,000 minimum sits between Birch's $5,000 and Goldco's $25,000. The table compares Noble with six rivals on the same four fields, as of September 29, 2026.
| Company | IRA minimum | Account fees published | Spread range published | BBB complaints per 100 reviews |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Noble Gold | $20,000 | Yes, but two pages disagree ($80 + $275 or $50 + $285) | No | 1.2 |
| Goldco | $25,000 | Yes ($50 + $275 segregated) | No | 4.2 |
| Augusta Precious Metals | $50,000 (Augusta FAQ, updated Sept. 23, 2026) | Yes, in its FAQ ($285 year 1, $235 after) | No | 0.7 |
| Birch Gold Group | $5,000 | About $235 a year | No | 4.0 |
| American Hartford Gold | Not published | No | Yes: bullion up to 19.99%; other coins up to 39.99% or 59.99% | 13.9 |
| Lear Capital | Not published | No | Yes: 2%-35% | 22.1 |
| Priority Gold | Not published | No | No | 6.0 |
The best gold IRA companies are ranked on the same records, with the spread counted.
Noble Gold vs Goldco#
Noble Gold's minimum is $5,000 lower than Goldco's, and its complaint rate is lower: 1.2 against 4.2 per 100 BBB reviews (September 29, 2026). Their yearly account fees are almost the same: $275 to $285 at Noble against $275 with segregated storage at Goldco. Both firms' website terms share one shipping sentence; SafeOunce found no business link. The full table is on Goldco vs Noble Gold.
Noble Gold appears in the five other comparisons listed below.

Noble Gold's celebrity spokespeople and endorsements#
Noble Gold's homepage features actor Kevin Sorbo and media hosts Dave Rubin and Seth Holehouse, as of September 29, 2026. Noble's own 2023 lawsuit over an "exclusive endorsement agreement" shows that these endorsement deals are business contracts. The CFTC warns in general that fraudulent dealers "target their ads to political or religious programming just to gain your trust" (CFTC release 8881-24). This is not an allegation against Noble Gold.
Other sellers use celebrity gold IRA endorsements too.
Does Noble Gold pay review sites?#
Yes: Noble Gold runs an affiliate program that promises "huge payouts" through a sign-up form, but it does not publish how much it pays per referral. An affiliate is a website paid for sending customers. Noble's sign-up page (September 29, 2026) says "Our affiliate manager will get in touch with you to share our affiliate startup guide".
Paid or not, many Noble reviews print figures that Noble's own pages contradict. The table checks the main ones against Noble's pages, read September 29, 2026.
| Claim on a review page | Who says it | Noble's pages or current record (September 29, 2026) |

| BBB 216 reviews, 4 complaints | Clute Journals (September 2025) | 242 reviews, 3 complaints (BBB) |
Many review pages are paid when you contact a company; see who pays SafeOunce. SafeOunce takes no money from any company named on this page.
Is noblegoldira.com the official Noble Gold site?#
No: noblegoldira.com and nobleassets.com each describe themselves as "an independent affiliate partner of Noble Gold Investments"; Noble's own site is noblegoldinvestments.com. Both ranked on the first page of Google on September 29, 2026, for "noble gold ira" and "noble gold investments". The top result for "noble gold reviews" that day was a wedding firm, Noble Gold Events.
Does Noble Gold sell physical gold outside an IRA?#
Yes: Noble sells coins and bars for home delivery from $10,000, and Royal Survival Packs from $5,000 (September 29, 2026). They ship by registered, insured mail, UPS or FedEx within 5-14 business days after funds clear, per its website terms. Outside an IRA, the metal is yours to keep where you like.
Is Noble Gold a publicly traded company?#
No: Noble Gold operates as Golden Bull, LLC, a private California limited liability company, and publishes no financial statements. The "Golden Bull Ltd" in SEC records is the former name of Bit Digital, Inc., an unrelated company. A search for "noble gold stock" therefore finds no Noble share you can buy.
What is the downside of a gold IRA with Noble Gold?#
The main downside is cost: Noble charges $275 to $285 a year plus a spread it does not publish, and gold pays no interest or dividends. Gold also has to rise before you break even: about 31% at a 20% spread. Every gold IRA has pros and cons beyond Noble's. The general case is on gold IRA pros and cons.
